The Vineyard Movement is a network of over 1,500 churches worldwide, committed to seeing each generation reached by the power of the Gospel. With a view to embrace integrity in Christian character along with the activity of the Holy Spirit, each Vineyard church seeks to be an outpost of God’s compassionate love in a broken world.

History

Led in its earliest years by the late John Wimber, the Vineyard Movement has become one of the most influential church movements in recent history. As an extension of the church movement, Vineyard Worship (Come, Now Is The Time To Worship; Your Love Is Amazing) has deeply impacted the experience of thousands of churches around the world. Want the full story? There are a number of books and DVDs available from Vineyard Resources that explore the history, events, issues and people who have shaped the Vineyard.

Leadership

An international movement, Vineyard USA is led by Phil Strout. Vineyard USA is further divided into sixteen regions, grouped together by relationship and location. Andy and Sharon Meade are the Regional Leaders for the Mid-Atlantic Region, an area stretching from Maryland to South Carolina. Furthermore, Area Pastor’s (AP’s) assist the Regional Leader and the local churches they oversee, creating a community of care and communication. The decentralized approach to leadership allows the Vineyard to remain agile and flexible as it seeks to reach a changing world with the living Gospel.
