Tim Marsh | Assimilation Pastor
My name is Tim Marsh and I’ve been active at Vineyard Community Church since the fall of 2003. I found Vineyard while getting lost looking for a Chinese fast food restaurant. In hindsight it was definitely a God-moment. I grew up in Arizona where my dad, a pastor himself, led me to Christ at a young age. I’m one of six children and am the lone sibling living on the east coast. As an 11-year veteran (U.S. Navy) I have a good understanding of the needs of military families and the unique challenges they face. I’ve served in a variety of ministries including Hospitality, Missions and Connect Groups. My first passion is Missions and have been blessed to co-lead over a dozen international mission trips. My second passion is Compassion ministries and am active in nursing home and hospital visitation along with community outreaches to the less fortunate of Hampton Roads.
I’m a graduate of the Vineyard Leadership Institute, hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University and am nearing completion of an M.A. in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University with an emphasis in Community Chaplaincy. Outside of Vineyard, I serve the Lord as a volunteer Chaplain for a large regional hospital, actively involved with patient consults, helping patients and families with end-of-life decisions and sit on the hospital Ethics Committee and Family/Patient Advisory Council.
In my spare time I thoroughly enjoy spending time with family, serving as a Boy Scout leader, running and listening to Christian music and classic radio shows from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Starbucks coffee and authentic Mexican food are my Achilles heel and I’m always on the lookout for restaurants serving authentic street tacos.
The faith community at Vineyard is simply amazing and it’s such an honor serving Christ in this capacity. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
